Depend Gone To the Beach with nail art foil
Visserligen är hösten på god väg, men jag har en massa sommar och vårmanikyrer som jag inte har bloggat om, så det blir lite blandat. Men det kan väl vara lite kul med omväxling bland alla höstmurriga lack.
Gone To the Beach är från Depends Life of Venice-kollektion som kom i somras och jag har fått den som pressprov. Det är ett riktigt härligt turkosgrönt krämlack. Jag lackade med två lager och det var utmärkt att applicera.
När jag hade haft det ett dygn (så det var ordentligt härdat) la jag på en nagelfolie över, vilket resulterade i en hysteriskt glad manikyr!
Nagelfolie och överlack är inte helt lätt att hantera alla gånger, men nu tror jag att jag har hittat den magiska lösningen till hur jag ska få det att hålla! (Snabbtorkade överlack funkar inte eftersom de skrynklar ihop folien och Picture Polish Revolution håller inte särskilt bra.) Jag toppade manikyren med två lager Picture Polish Revolution först och lät det torka ordentligt över natten. Därefter la jag på ett lager vanligt (alltså inte snabbtorkande) överlack. Den här kombinationen gjorde att folien höll sig fin och skrynkelfri i fyra dagar, vilket är det bästa jag har varit med om hittills!
In English: We are fast approaching autumn, but I have a lot of summer and spring manicures that I haven’t shown you yet, so I’ll mix up the autumn manis a bit.
Gone To the Beach is from the Depend Life of Venice collection that was released this summer, and it was sent to me as a press sample. It is a lovely bright turquoise green creme. I applied two coats and it was excellent to paint with. After wearing it plain for a day, I added a nail art foil and ended up with a hysterically cheerful manicure!
Nail art foil and top coat is a tricky combination, but I think that I have finally found the magic solution to how to make it last! (Quick dry top coats wrinkle the foil, so they are not an option, and Picture Polish Revolution doesn’t last that long.) I topped the mani off with two coats of Picture Polish Revolution and let it dry thoroughly overnight. Then I added a coat of regular (not quick dry) top coat. This combination lead to the manicure being nice and wrinkle free for four days, which is the best I’ve achieved with a foil mani so far!
Grön onsdag: Depend Be Courageous
Det är onsdag, och jag har faktiskt en liten paus på mitt hotellrum innan jag ska ut och äta middag, så jag tar och bloggar lite! Jag är i Edinburgh med jobbet i några dagar. Trevlig stad!
Dagens gröna lack är Be Courageous, nummer 7133 från Depends Celebrate Personalitykollektion. (Jag har fått det som pressprov.) Det tillhör gelhybridserien 7 days, som jag tycker brukar ha bra hållbarhet, men det här fick faktiskt tipwear efter bara ett par dagar. Det är ett fint skogsgrönt krämlack i alla fall. Täckte på två lager och hade bra formula. För några år sedan hade jag blivit helt kär i det, men nu finns det faktiskt (äntligen!) många andra lack i ungefär samma färg.
In English: It is Wednesday, and I actually have a short break in my hotel room before I’m going out for dinner, so I’ll take the opportunity to blog a little! I am in Edinburgh for work for a few days. Very nice town!
Today’s green polish is Be Courageous, number 7133 from the Depend Celebrate Personality collection. (It was sent to me as a press sample.) It is from the gel hybrid series 7 days, and while I usually think the polishes in this series last well, this got tip wear after just a few days. Anyways, it is a very nice forest green creme. It was opaque in two coats and was easy to apply.
Grön onsdag: Bow Polish Mutation
Onsdag betyder Grön onsdag hos Karin, så idag visar jag ett fint termolack som jag bar i våras. Bow Polish gör riktigt fina termolack med väldigt tydliga skiftningar. Jag har inte jättemånga, men gillar de jag har. Mutation är grönt, så det var jag förstås tvungen att skaffa mig. När det är varmt är det en gråtonad mellangrön och när det är kallt blir det mörkgrönt. Det har också lite fint holoskimmer i sig, så det gnistrar i solen. Jag bar tre lager av det och applikationen var alldeles utmärkt.

In English: Wednesday means Green Wednesday at Karin’s, so today I’ll show you a nice thermal polish that I wore this spring. Bow Polish makes great thermals with very clear shifts. I don’t have that many, but I like the ones I have. Mutation is green, so I had to have it, of course. In it’s warm state, it is a greyish medium grey and in its cold state it is dark green. It also has some fine holo shimmer, so it sparkles prettily in the sun. I wore three coats and the application was excellent.

Grön onsdag: Femme Fatale Melancholia
Veckans bidrag till Grön onsdag hos Karin blir ett jättefint lack, som tyvärr är svårt att få tag i numera. Femme Fatale Melancholia tillverkades exklusivt för Color 4 Nails och jag köpte det för ungefär ett år sedan och bar det i januari i år. (Mina bilder får mogna ganska länge innan de hamnar på bloggen ibland.) Basen är olivgrön och det har med holoskimmer, duokromt skimmer samt rött mikroglitter. Tror jag – det är ett ganska komplext lack.
Det täckte egentligen på två lager, men fick ett finare djup efter tre, och var väldigt lättapplicerat.
In English: This week’s contribution to Green Wednesday at Karin’s blog is a lovely polish that unfortunately is quite hard to find now. Femme Fatale Melancholia was made exclusively for Color 4 Nails and I bought it about a year ago and wore it last January. (My pictures are sometimes left to mature for quite some time before they end up on the blog.) The base is olive green and it has holo shimmer, multichrome shimmer and red microglitter. I think – it is a very complex polish.
It was opaque in two coats, but the colour got a nicer depth after three, and it was very easy to apply.
Green Wednesday: Discreet stamping with Depend 538 and 530
Mer stämpling! Nu börjar jag som sagt få lite kläm på grunderna och behöver bara öva mer, så min senaste manikyr blev också en stämpling, om än mycket diskretare än den senaste. Till den här har jag använt två gröna lack som jag har fått som pressprover från Depend; olivgröna 538 från Club Style-kollektionen och mörkgröna 530 från Dark Beauty-kollektionen. Båda täckte på två lager och var lätta att applicera.
Jag stämplade sedan med 538 över naglarna jag hade målat med 530. Lacket var inte riktigt tillräckligt färgstarkt för att det skulle synas så mycket, men det var snyggt på nära håll i alla fall. Motivet är från VL 020-plattan från Vivid Lacquer. Det är en riktigt fin platta, som jag dock inte har kommit fram till att använda nu, trots att jag köpte den för flera år sedan. Jag har ingen aning om varifrån jag köpte den, men den finns i alla fall att köpa från Harlow & Co om ni skulle vilja ha en själva.
Egentligen är jag för sent ute för att vara med på Grön onsdag eftersom klockan har passerat midnatt, men jag smiter med i alla fall, lite på ett hörn! Jag har ju i alla fall inte gått och lagt mig än… 😉
In English: More stamping! I am finally getting the hang of the basics and just need more practice, so my latest manicure also included stamping, albeit of a more discreet variety than my last mani. I used two green Depend polishes that was sent to me as press samples; the olive 538 from the Club Style collection and the dark green 530 from the Dark Beauty collection. Both were nice to apply and took two coats for full opacity.
I then stamped with 538 over the nails I had painted with 530. The polish wasn’t quite pigmented enough to show very well, but it was at least pretty up close. The motif is from the VL 020 plate from Vivid Lacquer. It is a very nice plate that I have had for a very long time but not used until now. I have no idea of where I bought it from, but it is available from Harlow & Co if you want your own.
I am a bit too late to join Green Wednesday, but I’ll sneak in anyways! 😉
Green Wednesday: Nerdlacquer Riemann Hypothesis
Sent omsider blir det ändå ett bidrag till Grön onsdag. (Jag har sällan tid att blogga tidigare på dagen och för dålig framförhållning för att tidsinställa inlägg.) Här är i alla fall ett arkivinlägg som inte är riktigt lika gamla som de andra ni har sett de senaste dagarna – det är ”bara” från våren 2016…
Riemann Hypothesis är ett mycket fint blågrönt lack med diskret gnistrande finish. Collier från Nerdlacquer beskriver den så här: ”Riemann Hypothesis is a rather oceanic teal with a little bit of murk. Glassy emerald flecks, blue shimmery bits, and a turquoise sheen are offset by a smattering of coppery sparks.”
Jag bar tre lager och det var utmärkt att applicera. Som många Nerdar satt det som berget – var fortfarande inte ens slitet efter fyra dagar! Jag tror jag har köpt dekalerna från Scratch nails för en halv evighet sedan, men de finns inte kvar i sortimentet.

Glassy emerald flecks, blue shimmery bits, and a turquoise sheen are offset by a smattering of coppery sparks.”
I wore three coats and the application was excellent. It also lasted very well – it wasn’t worn at all after four days! I think I bought the stickers from Scratch Nails a long time ago, but they are not in store any more.
Grön onsdag: Depend 7 day 7139 Simply Attraction
Det första lacket från Depends Celebrate Personality-kollektion som hamnade på mina fingrar var jadegröna krämlacket Simply Attraction (nummer 7139 – bra att veta eftersom hela namnen inte står på flaskorna). Det är ett riktigt fint lack som jag trivdes bra i. Två lager räckte för full täckning och det gled på utan problem. Jag har fått det som pressprov.
Jag dekorerade det med aztekinspirerade guldklistermärken från She Sells Seashells.

In English: The first polish from the Depend Celebrate Personality collection that ended up on my fingers was the jade green creme Simply Attraction (number 7139 – can be good to know since the full name isn’t on the bottle). It is a nice polish that I liked wearing. Two coats was enough for full coverage and it was easy to apply. It was sent to me as a press sample.
I decorated it with gold aztek stickers from She Sells Seashells.

Darling Diva Out West Lived a Cowboy Named Rick
Karin, som håller i grön onsdag, berättade idag att hon har fått bröstcancer. Det är verkligen tufft, men hon är en kämpe, så jag är säker på att det kommer att gå bra! Det är väl ganska sannolikt att grön onsdag kommer att ligga nere ett tag på grund av det, men jag tänkte att jag ändå ska visa ett grönt lack, som en liten sympatigest sådär. Och det här är ett supervackert grönt lack som man verkligen blir glad av. Out West Lived a Cowboy Named Rick påminner lite om klassiska Leprechaun’s Gold, men det här har en lite mer mättad grön ton och större glitter. Basen är gröntonad och det är fullt med prismatiska små gröna glitter och större guldglitter. En klassisk glitterbomb! Med tanke på hur mycket glitter det är i det så var det faktiskt ändå förhållandevis lättapplicerat, och det täckte på två ganska tjocka lager.
In English: Karin, who organizes Green Wednesday, told us today that she has gotten breast cancer. It is really tough, but she is a fighter, so I am sure it will go well in the end! I guess that Green Wednesday will be cancelled for a while because ot it, but I will still show a gree polish today, as a kind of gesture of sympathy. And this polish is super beautiful and would make anyone happier. Out West Lived a Cowboy Named Rick reminds me of the classical Leprechaun’s Gold, but the green colour is a bit deeper and it has larger glitters. The base is green toned and it is full of prismatic small green glitters and larger gold glitters. A classig glitter bomb! considering how much glitter it has, it was still fairly easy to apply and covered in two pretty thick coats.
Grön onsdag: CND Happy Holly Day
Så är det dags för Grön onsdag hos Karin igen, och den här gången bidrar jag med ett lack från CNDs Creative Play-serie, Happy Holly Day. Jag fick det som pressprov i julas, men jag har inte känt för det förrän nu. Jag brukar vilja ha mina julgröna lack lite mörkare och mer blåtonade. Men nu på sommarhalvåret så känns det här klart roligare. Det är faktiskt väldigt likt OPI Jade is the New Black, som var väldigt poppis när det kom, bara lite klarare i färgen. En snygg, gultonad grön.
Jag bar två lager och det var lite rinnigt. Jag testade att använda det tillhörande över- och underlacket som jag fick med och som ska användas till Creative Play-lacken, men jag är inte imponerad. Manikyren torkade långsamt och överlacket blev lite bubbligt. Ett lager Essie Gel-Setter jämnade ut det, men det ska ju inte behövas.
Jag satte dit lite klistermärken, som jag tror att jag har köpt från Scratch Nails någon gång för länge sedan, men tycker de var lite för söta för min smak egentligen.
In English: It is time for Green Wednesday at Karin’s blog again, and this time my contribution is a polish from the CND Creative Play line, Happy Holly Day. I got it as a press sample this Christmas, but I didn’t feel like wearing it until now. I like my Christmas greens to be darker and more blue toned. Now that summer is here, this feels a lot more appropriate. It is actually very much alike OPI Jade is the New Black, that was very popular when it was released some years ago, but this is a little brighter. I nice, yellow toned green creme. I wore two coats, and it was a little runny. I tried the base and top coats from the Creative Play line that I also got as press samples, but I wasn’t impressed by them. The manicure dried slowly and the top coat bubbled. One coat of Essie Gel-Setter evened it out, but that shouldn’t really be needed.
I added some stickers that I think I bought from Scratch Nails a long time ago, but they were actually a bit too cute for my taste.
Grön onsdag: Kiko Sugar Mat 643
Nu är det semester och jag har tid och ork att blogga igen, så idag passar jag på att vara med på Karins gröna onsdag! Det här lacket bar jag för några veckor sedan, och det är ett sånt där som har hamnat längst bak bland de otestade och stått bortglömt alldeles för länge. Synd, för det är riktigt fint! Det är härligt knalligt gräsgrönt strukturlack som har ett fint guldskimmer, som dock var svårt att fånga på bild. (Det syntes bättre med överlack.) Det täckte väldigt bra, nästan på ett lager, men jag bar två bara för att få det jämt. Jag bar det först utan överlack, men klämde på överlack efter ett par dagar för att få lite omväxling.
In English: I’m on vacation, which means that I have time and energy to blog, so I will take the opportunity to join Karin’s Green Wednesday today! I wore this polish a couple of weeks ago, and it is one of those polishes that had been standing in the back of my untrieds for way too long. A pity, since it is very pretty! It is a lovely bright grass green textured polish with a nice gold shimmer, that is difficult to catch with the camera. (It was more visible with top coat.) It was very opaque and almost covered in one coat, but I wore two just to get it more even. I first wore it without top coat for a few days and then added a glossy top coat to change it up a bit.
