Till Depends gelhybridserie är det tänkt att man ska använda det här speciella kitet med över- och underlack för att få bästa resultat. Behöver man det verkligen, kan man fråga sig? Jag var nyfiken på att testa, så jag bad om ett pressprov och fick det. Jag har tidigare använt vanligt över- och underlack till 7 days-lacken, vilket har funkat bra. Oftast tycker jag att det gör det med gelhybridlack, faktiskt.
Kitet innehåller en rengöring som huvudsakligen består av etanol, ett underlack, ett överlack och en orangepinne. Användningen är inte direkt avancerad. Rengör naglarna med rengöringen, måla ett lager underlack, så många lager färgat lack som du tycker behövs och avsluta med ett lager överlack. Jag tycker faktiskt att det funkar riktigt bra. Manikyren torkar fort, klart jämförbart med snabbtorkande överlack, och får en väldigt fin lyster. Det kan man förstås komma åt även med andra över- och underlack, men jag tycker det sitter aningens bättre med det här kitet. Jag kan oftast ha lacket i åtminstone 4-5 dagar innan det börjar se slitet ut, och om man inte är så kinkig med lite tip wear så kan man nog klämma en vecka ur en vanlig manikyr om man lägger på nytt överlack med ett par dagars mellanrum.
Så vad är min slutsats? Behöver man det här? Tja, om man som jag använder 7 days-lack ganska ofta så kan det vara värt det. Jag har sådan omsättning på över- och underlack att det liksom inte någonsin är bortkastat att köpa mer så länge det är grejor jag gillar. Om man däremot bara ha några enstaka lack från 7 days-serien och inte använder dem så ofta så skulle jag nog säga att man kan spara sina pengar och köra vidare med vanligt över- och underlack. Så jättestor skillnad är det ändå inte.

In English: When you’re using the Depend gel hybrid polished from the 7 day series, you are supposed to be using this special kit with a base and top coat to get the best result. The question is – do you really need it? I was curious, so I asked for a press sample to try it out. I have previously used regular base and top coat and it worked fine. Which I think often is the case with gel hybrids, actually.
The kit contains a cleanser that mainly consists of ethanol, a base coat, a top coat and an orange stick. The instructions are fairly straight-forward. Clean you nails with the cleanser, paint a coat of base coat, as many coats of coloured polish as you like and finish with a coat of top coat. I actually think it works really well. The manicure dries surprisingly quickly, comparable to a quick-dry top coat, and it gets a very nice shine. You can get that with a regular top and base coat, too, of course, but I do think the manicure lasts a little longer when I use this kit. I often wear it for 4-5 days before I get any significant amount of tip wear, and if you aren’t too picky, you could probably make it last a week if you added more top coat every other day or so.
So – what is my conclusion? Do you really need this? Well, if you are like me and use 7 days polished fairly often, it can be worth it. I use so much base and top coat anyways, so it never is a waste to buy one that I like. If you, on the other hand, only have a few 7 day polishes and don’t use them very often, you might as well save your money and use your regular top and base coat. The difference is honestly not that big.
