Christmas bauble manicure
Året julaftonsmanikyr inspirerades av ett par enormt kitchiga julörhängen jag har i form av julkulor. Manikyrversionen blev faktiskt snyggare, och jag gillar kontrasten mellan de blanka snirklarna och texturen i det röda glittret.
Basen är Jade Ouro Liquido, ett guldlack som täckte på två lager, var bra att applicera, men visade mycket penseldrag. För att då en ännu blankare yta la jag på ett lager av ett guldkrompuder som jag köpte från eBay för länge sedan. För att få det att fästa använde jag Emily de Mollys Special Effects Base Coat. Det täckte jag sedan med ett lager överlack, Gloss Sauce från Sweet & Sour Lacquer och lät det torka över natten så det skulle vara helt härdat.
Dagen efter använde jag nagelvinyler från Glam My Mani och Depend O2 Secret Santa, ett pressprov från Time To Sparkle, julkollektionen 2017 för att skapa snirklarna. Secret Santa är ett mycket tjusigt rött glittrigt sandlack som täckte bra och torkade fort. Det var också med i Rough Glitter-kollektionen 2016, så jag har faktiskt två flaskor.
Jag gillade verkligen den här manikyren, och den kändes extremt julig!
In English: This year’s Christmas Eve manicure was inspired by a pair of very kitch christmas bauble earrings that I have. The manicure version actually looked better, and I liked the contrast between the shiny swirls and the textured red glitter.
The base is Jade Ouro Liquido, a gold polish that was opaque in two coats, easy to apply, but showed a lot of brush strokes. To get it shinier, I added a gold chrome powder that I bought from eBay a while back. Since the powder doesn’t stick to regular polish, I had a coat of Emily de Molly Special Effects Base Coat first. I then added a top coat, Gloss Sauce from Sweet & Sour Lacquer and let it dry over night.
The following day, I used nail vinyls from Glam My Mani and Depend O2 Secret Santa, a press sample from the 2017 Christmas collection Time to Sparkle, to create the swirls. Secret Santa is a very pretty red textured glitter that applied well, dried quickly and was opaque in one coat. It was also in the Rough Glitter collection 2016, so I actually have two bottles.
I really liked this manicure and it felt very Christmassy!
Summer mani with Depend O2 664
Det är äntligen sommar och jag fick min första vaccindos idag! Det känns som att livet börjar återvända, vilket gör mig sugen på glada manikyrer, och vad kan vara gladare än knallgult?
Till den här manikyren använde jag Depend O2 664, ett pressprov från Over the Rainbow-kollektionen. Förutom att vara härligt klargult så var det ovanligt bra att applicera för att vara ett gult lack. Det jämnade ut sig riktigt bra och täckte på tre lager.
Accentnaglarna är vattendekaler från MILV över tre lager vitt krämlack (Model’s Own Snow White).
In English: Summer is finally here, I got my first vaccine dose today and I am starting to feel like life is returning! It makes me fell like happy manicures, and what can be happier than a bright yellow?
For this manicure, I used Depend O2 664, a press sample from the Over the Rainbow collection. Besides being a lovely yellow, it had an unusually nice formula for a yellow creme. It evened out quite nicely and was opaque in three coats.
The accent nails are water decals from MILV over three coats of a white creme (Model’s Own Snow White).
CND Vinylux Cashmere Wrap och Mystic Slate
Jag har enorma mängder manikyrer som ligger och samlar damm i arkivet, så jag det blir så att jag blandar nytt och gammalt i ett försök att minska lite på det. Det här är en gammal manikyr som jag bar 2018. Lacken är pressprover från CNDs vinterkollektion 2017, Glacial Illusion.
Cashmere wrap är en lite smutsig ljusrosa som jag faktiskt tycker är ganska fin för att vara rosa. Mystic Slate är en mild grönblågrå. Båda var alldeles utmärkta att applicera och täckte nästan på ett lager – jag hade två av Mystic Slate och tre av Cashmere Wrap (eftersom jag råkade mosa till det andra lagret).
Jag stämplade sedan med Mystic Slate över Cashmere Wrap, vilket funkade bra. Det är inte alla vanliga lack som funkar att stämpla med eftersom de oftast inte är tillräckligt opaka. Cashmere Wrap är ett av de som inte funkar. Jag försökte stämpla med det också, men det blev inte snyggt. Till stämplingen använde jag platta 2 i ÜberChic Beautys femte kollektion. Sedan applicerade jag ett lager av Cirque Matte Look Top Coat för att göra det matt. Jag tycker faktiskt att det var snyggare matt än blankt. Vad tycker ni?
Blue dry-brush stamping with Depend From a Different View and 610
Den här manikyren gjorde jag som mitt bidrag till aprils tema för Nail Addicts Collab på Instagram, som var ”Technique Twister”. Uppgiften var att kombinera två olika dekorationstekniker i samma manikyr. Jag valde att grunda med en torrborstad bas och sedan stämpla över den.
I botten hade jag Depend 7 day 7229 From a Different View, ett pressprov från Open Mind-kollektionen. Det täckte på två lager och var förvånansvärt bra att lacka med för att vara ett så ljust lack. Sedan torrborstade jag med Depend 610, ett pressprov från Tokyo Street-kollektionen 2019. Sedan stämplade jag med Hit the Bottle Blue-tiful och plattan Lesly Ornate. Jag tycker det blev riktigt fint! De två ljusa lacken ligger tillräckligt nära i färg för att ge ett lugnt intryck men ändå är tillräckligt olika för att det ska synas skillnad. Det har ändå sina fördelar att ha en så stor nagellackssamling att man kan hitta lack i precis den nyansen man vill ha!
In English: This manicure was my contribution to the April theme at Nail Addicts Collab on Instagram, which was ”Technique Twister”. The idea was to combine two different nail art techniques in the same manicure. I chose to start with a dry brushed base and then stamp over it.
The base polish was Depend 7 day 7229 From a Different View, a press sample from the Open Mind collection. It was opaque in two coats and was surprisingly easy to apply for such a light polish. I dry brushed with Depend 610, a press sample from the 2019 Tokyo Street collection. Then I stamped with Hit the Bottle Blue-tiful and the Lesly Ornate plate. I really liked this! The two light blue polishes were close enough to give a calm impression but still different enough that the dry brush effect was visible. It has its advantages to have a large enough nail polish collection so that I can find polishes in the exact shade I am looking for!
Black and white nails in memory of Czorro
För ett drygt år sedan dog mammas katt Czorro väldigt plötsligt. Han var bara 9 år och trots obduktion vet vi fortfarande inte vad han dog av. Han var en otroligt mysig och snäll katt och han lämnade ett stort tomrum efter sig. Jag ville förstås hedra honom med en manikyr och eftersom han var vackert svartvit så blev det förstås en svartvit manikyr.
Det vita lacket är Depend 619, ett pressprov från Marbled-kollektionen. Det var faktiskt riktigt bra för att vara ett vitt lack, täckte bra och vallade sig inte alltför mycket.
Kattdekalerna är från Born Pretty Store. De böjda formerna på pekfinger och lillfinger gjorde jag med nagelvinyler från Loki’s Nail Vinyls, som dock var stela och svåra att få att sitta bra, så det blev rätt kladdigt. Det svarta lacket är L’Oreal Paris Noir Noir och det svarta glittret är Emily de Molly Death Defy.
In English: A little over a year ago, my mom’s beautiful cat Czorro died suddenly. He was only 9 years old, and despite having him autopsied, we still don’t know what he died from. He was an incredibly sweet and cuddly cat and was very missed. I wanted to honor his memory, and since he was very strikingly black and white, I did it with a black and white manicure.
The white base is Depend 619, a press sample from the Marbled collection. It was actually quite nice for a white polish, relatively opaque and applied fairly evenly.
The cat decals are from Born Pretty Store. The bent shapes on the pointer and pinky were made with nail vinyls from Loki’s Vinyls that unfortunately were quite stiff and difficult to use, so it got a bit messy. The black polish is L’Oreal Paris Noir Noir and the black glitter is Emily de Molly Death Defy.
Depend O2 652
Ska jag chocka er igen? Jag har faktiskt burit rosa naglar två manikyrer i rad! Den senaste var i o f s så ljust rosa att den nästan var vit, och om jag ska vara ärlig var det lite mörkt när jag valde lacket, så jag trodde att det var vitt. Nåja, ett så här ljust rosa kan jag stå ut med ett tag, faktiskt. (Men nu har jag gröna naglar igen, så oroa er inte!)
Jag var inspirerad av en manikyr som @polishpixie92 har visat på Instagram. Baslacket är ett Depend O2 652, ett pressprov från You Pastel Me-kollektionen. Det krävdes fyra lager för att få det helt jämnt, och liksom de flesta vita eller nästanvita lack så var det lite svårt att få det helt jämnt och täckande. Det var långt ifrån det värsta jag har varit med om, däremot.
Jag petade på lite bladguld och stämplade i svart. Plattan jag använde är Lesly Geometric Flora och stämplingslacket är Cuticula Licorice. Jag tycker det blev en helt ok manikyr. Ganska elegant, men så här i efterhand tycker jag att jag hade kunnat vara snålare med bladguldet.
In English: Do you want to be shocked again? I have worn pink nail polish two manis in a row! Although the last one was so pale that it was almost white, and to be honest it was a bit dark when I chose it, so I thought it was white, not pink. Well, a pink this pale is quite bearable for a couple of days actually. (But I am back to green nails now, not to worry!)
This mani is inspired by a mani that @polishpixie92 posted on Instagram a while back. The base is Depend O2 652, a press sample from the You Pastel Me collection. It took four coats to get it even and, like so many whites, it was a bit tricky to get it even. Far from the worst I’ve tried, though!
I applied some gold leaf while it was still wet and then stamped with Cuticula Licorice and the plate Geometric Flora from Lesly. I think it turned out ok. Rather elegant, but in hindsight I would probably have used less of the gold leaf.
Tropical gradient nails
Som så många andra har jag haft lite dåligt med energi det senaste halvåret, och det har tyvärr gått ut över bloggen. Jag har inte lagt av, däremot. Det kanske bara blir lite längre mellan posterna nu.
När novembermörkret ligger tungt kan man behöva se tillbaka till ljusare tider, så jag tänkte posta den här färgglada manikyren från i somras. Basen är två lager av det gula krämlacket Depend 7 day Pump It Up (från Paradisekollektionen 2020, men gavs också ut med Beat It 2019). Jag gjorde sedan en gradient med Pump It Up, orangea Depend 7 day Search från Onlinekollektionen 2020 och röda Depend O2 621 från Game On-kollektionen 2020. Alla tre är pressprover. Dekalerna är från So Nailicious. Mycket fina, men lite stela. Inte så det är något stort problem, men jag hade önskat att de var lite mjukare.
På det stora hela gillade jag den här manikyren. Den är knappast unik, men färgglad och uppiggande.
In English: Like so many others, I have not had much energy lately, and the blog has suffered from it. I haven’t given up, but I will probably go longer between the posts for a while.
Now that the November darkness is really settling in, I like to remember brighter times. This summery manicure is really not autumn appropriate, but I like to see some colour now. The base is two coats of the yellow creme Depend 7 day Pump It Up (from the Paradise collection 2020, but it was also released with the Beat It collection in 2019). I then did a gradient with Pump It Up, the orange Depend 7 day Search (from the Online collection 2020) and red Depend O2 621 (from the Game On collection 2020). All three are press samples.
The decals are from So Nailicious. Very pretty, but a little stiff. Not so it’s a major problem, but I would have liked them to be a bit softer. On the whole, I liked this manicure. It is hardly unique, but colourful and cheerful.
OPI Infinite Shine Brains & Bronze
Efter den lite röriga julmanikyren i rött så ville jag ha en enklare manikyr, vilket ledde till en minimalistisk pepparkaksmanikyr. Jag grävde igenom mina otestade lack för att hitta ett så pepparkaksbrunt lack som möjligt och valde OPI Brains & Bronze, ett pressprov från när Infinite Shine-serien startades 2016. Färgen är inte så kul på egen hand, men jag trivdes förvånansvärt bra i den här manikyren ändå. Vilket är lite konstigt, för Brains & Bronze är väldigt likt Ice-burgers & Fries från Nordic-kollektionen 2014, som jag däremot inte gillade särskilt mycket alls när jag bar det.
Lacket var i alla fall fortfarande i gott skick trots att det är rätt gammalt och gled på hur lätt som helst. Det täckte på två lager. Överlacket från Infinite Shineserien som jag fick samtidigt med det här lacket hade däremot blivit segt och bubblade en del.
Dekoren gjorde jag med vit striping tape (som inte blev särskilt vit eftersom den var rätt tunn) och vita små pluppar (som inte heller var direkt kritvita). Mycket enkelt!
In English: After the slightly messy red Christmas mani, I was in the mood for a simpler manicure and ended up with a minimalistic gingerbread inspired manicure. I dug through my untried polishes for the most gingerbready brown and chose OPI Brains & Bronze, a press sample from when the Infinite Shine series was launched in 2016. The colour is not that exciting on its own, but I liked this manicure quite a lot. It is quite odd that I did, especially since Brains & Bronze is very similar to Ice-burgers & Fries from the Nordic collection in 2014, which I didn’t like at all when I wore it.
The polish was still in good shape, despite being quite old, and was very easy to apply. It covered in two coats. The Infinte Shine top coat, that I got at the same time as the polish, was not. It had gotten quite thick and bubbled a bit.
I did the nail art with white striping tape (that was a bit thin and therefore looked a bit off-white) and white dots (that also weren’t particularly white. Very simple!
Colour block mani with the Depend Colours of a Mermaid collection
Jag skrev i förra posten att jag lyckades kombinera åtta av lacken från Colours of a Mermaidkollektionen i en och samma manikyr, så här kommer lite bilder på den. Jag blev faktiskt riktigt nöjd!
Basen är också ett Dependlack, fast från Nude it is!-kollektionen som kom till våren. Den kollektionen tyckte jag faktiskt var så oinspirerande att jag inte har kommit fram till att visa den än, men det är bra med nudelack som bas till nail art i alla fall. Lacket är Depend O2 5091 Barely Blushed, som är väldigt ljust rosa krämlack. Fräscht, diskret och jättetråkigt! Jag bar två lager och det var ganska bra att applicera. Om jag hade burit det ensamt hade jag nog lagt på ett lager till för att få det helt jämnt.
Dekoren är mycket enklare än den ser ut för att vara. Jag använde helt enkelt nagelvinyler från Twinkled T för att skapa olika färgblock och fyllde i med åtta av lacken från Colours of a Mermaid; 590 (ljusrosa), 591 (mellanrosa), 593 (lila), 594 (ljusblått), 595 (turkost), 596 (äppelgrönt), 597 (orange) och 598 (rödorange). Jag tycker det blev riktigt fint och peppigt. Lacken passar väldigt bra ihop och jag tycker de är roligare i kombination än de är var för sig. För en gångs skull så lyckades jag också få riktigt skarpa ränder och undvika att manikyren smetades ut eller bubblade sig!

In English: I wrote in my last post that I had managed to combine eight of the polishes from the Colours of a Mermaid collection in the same manicure, so here comes some pictures. I was really quite happy with it!
The base is another Depend polish, but this one is from the spring Nude it is! collection. I was so uninspired by that collection that I haven’t gotten around to post swatches yet. Nudes are good as bases for nail art, but that’s about all I use them for. This is Depend O2 5091 Barely Blushed, which is a very pale pink creme. Fresh, discreed and very boring! I wore two coats and application was pretty good. If I had worn it alone, I probably would have added a third coat.
The nail art is much easier than it looks. I simply used nail vinyls from Twinkled T fo create colour blocks that I filled in with polishes from the Colours of a Mermaid collection; 590 (light pink), 591 (medium pink), 593 (purple), 594 (light blue), 595 (turquoise), 596 (apple green), 597 (orange) och 598 (reddish orange). It ended up being a very happy mani, which I really liked. The polishes go very well together and I actually think they look better combined than each on their own. And for once I managed to get pretty crisp lines and nothing got smudged or bubbly!

Först en bild på baslacket för att visa hur det ser ut utan överlack. Det får en sidenmatt yta som är ganska fin, men här var lacket inte helt torrt (jag orkade inte vänta längre), så det är lite blankare på bilderna än det blir om man orkar vänta längre.
First a picture of the base alone and without top coat. It dries satin matte, which is quite nice, but in these pictures it wasn’t completely dry (I didn’t have the patience to wait any longer), so it is still slightly shiny.
Pastel Easter manicure
Glad påsk på er! Årets påskmanikyr kan vara min favorit av alla mina påskmanikyrer, trots att den var väldigt enkel – bara lite prickar och vattendekaler.
Basen är pastellgula krämlacket OPI Meet a Boy Cute as Can Be från Greasekollektionen. Som så många andra gula krämlack var det inte helt lätt att måla med. Jag bar fyra lager, och det var lite rinnigt och svårt att få jämnt. På det använde jag ett dotting tool för att göra prickar med Depend 7 day 7174 Rachel Got Off the Plane från Friendskollektionen (det pastelligt lila) och Depend 569 från Whoever Whatever-kollektionen (det rödlila). Jag använde också Rachel Got Off the Plane till en accentnagel med gula fjädrar. Det täckte på två lager och var lite rinnigt, men inte farligt.
Alla tre lacken är pressprover.
In English: Happy Easter! This year’s Easter manicure might be my favourite of all my Easter manicures, despite being very simple, just some dots and water decals.
The base is the pastel yellow creme OPI Meet a Boy Cute as Can Be from the Grease collection. As many other yellow cremes, it didn’t apply too well. I needed four coats and it was a bit runny and difficult to get even. I then used a dotting tool to make a dotting gradient with Depend 7 day 7174 Rachel Got Off the Plane from the Friends collection (the pastel purple) and Depend 569 from the Whoever Whatever collection (the reddish purple). I also used Rachel Got Off the Plane for an accent nail with yellow feather decals. It was opaque in two coats and was a little runny, but not too bad.
All three polishes are press samples.
