New Year’s Eve mani with CND Stylish Sapphire
Jag hann visst inte posta min nyårsmanikyr här… Den kom bara ut på Instagram, men bättre sent än aldrig! Basen är CND Stylish Sapphire, ett vackert midnattsblått skimmerlack med väldigt fint djup och lyster. Det ser nästan ut som färgat glas, så fin är lystern! Jag har fått det som ett pressprov och det släpps med vinterns Wonderball-kollektion. Två lager räckte för att det skulle täcka och det var lätt att applicera.
Jag stämplade sedan med tre lack från Depends Across the Universe-kollektion (den gröna, nr 5061, den mörkblå, nr 5060 och den ljust silverblå, nr 5059) och Holiday Snowfall-plattan från What’s Up Nails. Lacken stämplade ganska bra och jag gillade effekten jag fick av att använda de olika färgerna av lack med likadan finish. Tyvärr var jag för snabb med det andra lagret överlack, så det bubblade sig och förstörde alltihopa… Väldigt tråkigt, för annars tycker jag att det blev en fin manikyr.
In English: I hadn’t time to post my New Year’s Eve mani here, only on Instagram, but better late than never! The base is CNS Stylish Sapphire, a beautiful midnight blue shimmer with gorgeous depth and luster. It almost looks like coloured glass. I have gotten it as a press sample and it was released with this winter’s Wonderball collection. Two coats was enough and application was good.
I stamped on it with three polishes from the Depend Across the Universe collection (the green, no 5061, the dark blue, no 5060 and the silvery blue no 5059) and the Holiday Snowfall plate from What’s Up Nails. The polishes stamped quite well and I liked the effect of using the three polishes in different colours but with the same finish. Unfortunarely, I was too quick with the second layer of top coat, which made it bubble and ruined the whole thing. A bit sad. I liked the mani before that.
OPI Coalmates with Christmas tree stamping
Än går det att klämma ut lite julstämning ur det här året, så jag visar min mellandagsmanikyr, som går på jul/vintertema. Basen är OPI Coalmates, som jag har fått som pressprov från vinterkollektionen Love, OPI. Det är ett lack som har fått mycket uppmärksamhet, och det är fint, men jag är faktiskt inte exalterad. Det är mörkblått med en silvrig bas och multifärgat skimmer. Trevligt lack, men inte galet speciellt. Jag bar två lager och det var lätt att applicera.
För att haka på (om än flera dagar sent) julgranstemat på Lacky Corners Winter Nail Art Challenge-utmaning så stämplade jag julgranar med ett vitt stämplingslack från Depend och stämplingsplattan A014 Holiday Snowfall från What’s Up Nails. Både lacket och plattan funkade bra att stämpla med. Jag testade också omvänd stämpling och fyllde i julgranskulorna på långfingrarna med Wrap Up Warm från Depends Just Like Magic-kollektion. Det hade nog varit bättre med ett skimmerlack istället för ett glitterlack, dock, eftersom det blev lite knöligt med glitterkornen. Men tja, juligt blev det, även om jag nu faktiskt börjar känna för att göra lite helt vanliga manikyrer. Det blir en nyårsmanikyr till imorgon först, bara!
In English: There is still time to squeeze some Christmas spirit out of this year, so this is my Christmas/winter themed post-Christmas manicure. The base is OPI Coalmates, a press sample from the Love, OPI winter collection. This polish has gotten quite a lot of attention, and it is nice, but I am not extatic. It is a dark blue with a silvery base and multicoloured shimmer. Pretty, but not crazy special. I wore two coats and it was easy to apply.
In order to join (a few days late, but still) the Christmas tree theme for Lacky Corner’s Winter Nail Art Challenge, I stamped trees with a white stamping polish from Depend and the A014 Holiday Snowfall plate from What’s Up Nails. Both the polish and the plate were easy to work with. I also tried some reverse stamping and filled in the baubles on the big trees with Wrap Up Warm from the Depend Just Like Magic collection. It would probably have been better with a shimmer instead of a glitter, though, since the glitter made the stamping a bit lumpy. But well, it is Christmassy, at least, even if I am starting to long for regular manis by now. I’ll just do a New Year’s Eve mani for tomorrow, but then I’ll go back to normal!
Blue Monday: Depend O2 North of Andromeda
Under min Edinburghresa i förrförra veckan lyckades jag faktiskt bära samma lack under hela resan, d v s i hela fem dagar! Jag var ganska imponerad av hållbarheten, faktiskt, och det var skönt eftersom jag inte hade mycket tid till sånt som att måla naglarna. Det fantastiska lacket i fråga är North of Andromeda, från Depends Across the Universe-kollektion. Det är från O2-serien och har nummer 5058. Jag har fått det som pressprov. Det är en mycket snygg blått metalliclack med ett stänkt grönt i. Två lager täckte och applikationen var bra. Som dekoration petade jag på lite snöflingedekaler som jag har köpt från Nailshop.se.

In English: I actually managed to wear the same polish during my whole trip to Edinburgh in the week before last, that means five whole days! I was pretty impressed by that, really, and it was good since I didn’t have much time for my nails. The impressive polish is North of Andromeda, from the Depend Across the Universe collection. It is from the O2 series and has the number 5058. It was sent to me as a press sample. It is a very pretty blue metallic with a dash of green. Two coats covered without a problem and the application was a dream. I decorated it with some snow flake stickers that I have bought from Nailshop.se.

CND Vinylux Winter Nights and Alpine Plum
De första två lacken från CNDs vinterkollektion Glacial Illusion som hamnade på mina fingar var mörkblåa krämlacket Winter Nights och det ljuslila frostiga lacket Alpine Plum. (Båda är pressprover.) Alpine Plum är för pastelligt och frostigt för min smak, så det swatchade jag bara. Det var däremot riktigt bra att stämpla med, så jag stämplade med det över Winter Nights, och tycker det blev riktigt fint.
CNDs nya formula var riktigt bra. Lacken var ganska tunna i konsistensen, men inte det minsta rinniga, utan lättapplicerade och trevliga. De torkade dessutom fort. Båda täckte nästan på ett lager, men jag bar två på bilderna. Alpine Plum hade en tendens att visa penseldragen väldigt tydligt, så jag fick vara ganska noga när jag målade med det. Winter Nights satt väldigt bra också. Jag tror jag bar stämplingsmanikyren i fem dagar, och då var den inte farligt sliten när jag tog bort den.
Motivet är från ÜberChic Beautys The Far East 01-platta och jag stämplade som vanligt med MoYou Londons transparenta rektangulära stämpel och toppade med MoYous eget överlack eftersom det inte smetar ut stämplingen.
In English: The first two polishes that I wore from the CND winter collection Glacial Illusion was the dark blue creme Winter Nights and the light purple frost Alpine Plum. (Both are press samples.) Alpine Plum is too pastel-y and frosty for my taste, so I only swatched it. It did stamp very well, though, so I stamped with it over Winter Nights and was very happy with the result.
The new CND formula was really nice. The polishes were quite thin, but not the least bit runny. Very easy to apply. They also dried quickly and was almost opaque in one coat. (I wore two.) Alpine Plum had a tendency to show brush strokes, so I had to be careful when applying it. The stamping mani with Winter Nights as a base lasted for five days, and it wasn’t even very worn when I removed it.
The pattern is from the ÜberChic Beauty Far East 01 plate and I stamped with the MoYou London clear rectangular stamper and topped it with MoYou’s top coat that doesn’t smudge the nail art.
Blue Monday: Depend O2 Zodiac Dreams
Till dagens blåa måndag blir det ett lack från Depends fina höstkollektion Across the Universe, Zodiac Dreams (nr 5060). Det är ett jättevackert djupblått folielack som dessutom var trevligt att lacka med och nästan täckte på ett lager. (Jag bar två för säkerhets skull.) Jag har fått hela kollektionen som pressprover, något jag är mycket glad över!
Det blev en enkel och snabb dekor p g a tidsbrist, bara en liten strass (också från Depend, också pressprov), men å andra sidan behöver inte ett sånt här vackert lack så mycket dekor egentligen.
In English: For today’s Blue Monday, I’m showing a manicure with a polish from Depend’s autumn collection Across the Universe, Zodiac Dreams (no 5060). It is a gorgeous deep blue foil that was nice to apply and almost covered in one coat. (I wore two, just to be safe.) The whole collection was sent to me as a press sample, something I am very glad for!
The nail art was very quick and simple since I didn’t have time for anything else, just a small rhinestone (also a pressample from Depend), but on the other hand, I don’t feel that sucha a beautiful polish really needs that much decoration.
Depend 7 day 7138 Stay Smart
Den här manikyren blev jag riktigt nöjd med, men jag hann tyvärr bara bära den i två dagar innan en av mina naglar skivade sig så lacket lossnade. Typiskt hösten. Mina naglar blir alltid olyckliga så här års.
Basen är mellanblåa krämlacket Stay Smart från Depends Celebrate Personality-kollektion. Jag har fått det som pressprov och tycker det är riktigt fint. Kanske inte superunikt, men fint. Det täckte på två lager och var trevligt att lacka med.
Tyvärr hade mitt överlack blivit lite tjockt och bubblade på två fingrar innan jag bytte till en fräschare flaska, så jag kände ett visst behov av att dölja bubblorna. Lösningen blev att stämpla över med Depends vita stämplingslack och motiv från ÜberChic Beautys OP Art Magic-platta. Det blev ganska coolt, om jag får säga det själv! Stämplingen blir fortfarande inte perfekt, men tillräckligt bra för att jag ska vara nöjd med det.
In English: I really liked this manicure, but unfortunately, I only wore it for two days before one of my nails peeled so that the polish chipped. Typical autumn. My nails are always unhappy at this time of the year.
The base is the medium blue creme Stay Smart from the Depend Celebrate personality collection. It was sent to me as a press sample and I think it is quite nice. Maybe not super unique, but pretty. It covered in two coats and the application was good.
Sadly, my top coat had gotten thick and bubbled on two fingers before I swapped to a newer bottle. I wanted to cover it up a bit, so I added some stamping with the white stamping polish from Depend and the OP Art Magic plate from ÜberChic Beauty. It turned out to be quite cool, if I may say so myself! The stamping is still not perfect, but good enough for me to be satisfied.
ILNP Open Fields
Jag har äntligen en fungerande telefon igen (jag fick köpa en ny till slut), men nu har jag istället galet mycket på jobbet. Roligt jobb, visserligen, men det har inte lämnat så mycket tid för vare sig naglar eller blogg. Och på den lilla tid jag har haft över har jag paniksytt en klänning till bröllopet jag gick på i lördags. Därav uppehållet. Men nu tänkte jag i alla fall visa ett riktigt fint lack. Jag bar det i december 2016, men har inte visat det tidigare. ILNP gör ju väldigt fina lack, och Open Fields är inget undantag. Det är ett underbart multikromt flakie som skiftar i guld, grönt och blått. Jag målade på det ungefär som vanligt, dabbade lite för att täcka kala fläckar bara, och det täckte på tre lager.
In English: I finally have a functioning phone again (I had to buy a new one in the end), but now I have instead gone into a period with a crazy amount of work. Fun work, bit it still hasn’t left much time for either nails or blog. In the little time I have had left, I panic sewed a dress for a wedding I went to last Saturday. Hence the pause in my posting. But now I will show you a really beautyful polish. I wore it in December 2016, but I haven’t shown it before. ILNP makes a lot of lovely polishes, and Open Fields is no exception. It is a gorgeous multichrome flakie that shifts between gold, green and blue. I applied it as usual, with just a little dabbing to cover any bald spots, and it was opaque in three coats.
Holofredag: Emily de Molly Too Many Moves
Holofredag igen, och jag kör vidare med mina Emily de Molly-holosar. Jag köpte ett gäng i våras, så de dominerar bland mina oprövade hololack. Too Many Moves är, liksom The Descent som jag visade förra veckan, ett supervackert multikromatiskt lack med spritt prismatiskt glitter. Det skiftar mellan blått, lila och lite guld, och skiftningarna är väldigt tydliga. Jag bar två lager och det var lätt att applicera.
In English: Holo Friday again, and I keep showing my Emily de Molly holos. I bought a bunch this spring, so they are currently dominating my untried holos. Too Many Moves is, like The Decent that I showed last week, a gorgeous multichrome with scattered prismatic glitters. It shifts between blue, purple and a little gold, and the shifts are very visible. I wore two coats and it applied really well.
OPI Check Out the Old Geysirs and Less is Norse
OPIs höstkollektion är inspirerad av Island, denna fantastiskt trevliga och speciella ö. Jag var där 2006 och skulle gärna åka tillbaka. Det finns så mycket att se!
Jag har fått pressprover på en del av lacken i kollektionen, och fastnade direkt för kombinationen av Check Out the Old Geysirs och Less is Norse. Check Out the Old Geysirs är en milt och fint gråblått lack med ett varmare blått skimmer, som kanske inte syns jättemycket på nageln, men som är fint när det väl syns. Less is Norse är ett mörkt blågrått krämlack. Det är också en härlig färg, och jag gillar den mycket. Båda lacken täckte på två lager och hade den klassiska OPI-formulan; ganska trevlig att lacka med, men med en tendens att vilja krypa ner i mina nagelband.
Dekoren gjorde jag genom att måla lack på min silikonmatta, och sedan klippa lackbitarna i smala ränder när det hade torkat. Dessa fäste jag sedan med ett lager fuktigt transparent lack. Jag gillar den tekniken, men precis som förra gången jag använde den så lyckades jag mosa manikyren på ett finger så det blev lite kladdigt…
In English: OPI’s autumn collection this year is inspired by Iceland, the amazing and unique island. I was there in 2006 and would really like to go back some day. There was so much to see!
I have gotten press samples of some of the polishes in the collection and immediately liked the combination of Check Out the Old Geysirs and Less is Norse. Check Out the Old Geysirs is a mild and pretty dove blue with a warmer blue shimmer, that is somewhat difficult to see on the nail, but still very nice when you do see it. Less is Norse is a dark greyish blue creme, that I like a lot. Both polishes were opaque in two coats and had the classical OPI formula; nice to apply, but with a tendency to creep down into my cuticles.
I did the nail art by painting both polishes on my silicone mat, and then cutting the polish pieces to strips when it had tried. I applied the strips in a coat of wet clear polish. I like the technique, but just like last time I used it, I managed to smash one nail into something before it had dried and messed it up a bit.
Holofredag: Emily de Molly Perfect Oasis
Holofredag hos Sminkan och Emma fortsätter september ut eftersom det fortfarande finns lite sol att njuta av hololack i, och jag tänkte försöka vara med några gånger i alla fall. Just nu bär jag ett vackert blått holo från Emily de Molly, Perfect Oasis. Det täckte på två lager och gled på som smör. Formulan på hololack har verkligen förbättrats sedan de kom! Hållbarheten är ganska bra. Det gick några små flisor efter ungefär ett dygn, men jag lappade upp det och har nu burit det i fem dagar. Större delen av den tiden har jag varit däckad i en monsterförkylning och mest legat och haft feber, visserligen, så det har inte blivit mycket slitage. Men ändå!
Dekorationen är ett klistermärke från Kiss. Inte så avancerat, men jag brukar inte vilja dekorera för mycket när jag har hololack eftersom jag inte vill täcka över regnbågarna.
In English: The Holo Friday at Sminkan och Emma is continuing for the rest of September since we still have some sun to enjoy the holo in, so I will try to join a few times at least. Right now, I am wearing a beautiful blue holo from Emily de Molly, Perfect Oasis. It covered in two coats and glided on like butter. The formula of holo polishes has really improved a lot since they first came! The lasting time was pretty good. I got a few small chips after a day, but I fixed them and now I have worn it for five days. The majority of that time has been spent with a fever and sore throat on the couch, so not much wear, but still!
The decoration is a simple sticker from Kiss. Not very advanced, but I generally don’t want to cover up too much of the rainbows when I am wearing a holo polish.
