Depend Eastern Fusion (våren 2017)
Jag ligger efter med allt, som vanligt, och inte blir det bättre av att Depend släpper kollektioner i ett rasande tempo. Eastern Fusion släpptes i o f s i januari, så man kan tycka att jag borde ha hunnit visa den, men icke… 😛 Nåväl, bättre sent än aldrig! Kollektionen ska vara asieninspirerad, men jag kan faktiskt inte riktigt förstå hur. För mig är asien svart, lackrött och möjligen körsbärsblomsljuvt rosa. Men nåja. Färgerna är ganska typiska vårfärger med mycket pasteller och rosa, vilket inte riktigt är min grej (och det kan förklara varför det tog sån tid att visa den). De kostar som vanligt 25 kr för en miniflaska med 5 ml. (Notera att Depend har parallella nummerserier för sina vanliga lack och O2-lacken. Båda vårkollektionerna är numrerade från 502 till 513, vilket kan vara lite förvirrande.) Jag har fått dem som pressprover.
In English: I am behind on everything, as usual, and it is not getting better by Depend releasing new collections at a frightening speed. Eastern Fusion was released in January, so you might have expected me to show it earlier, but no… 😛 Ah well, better late than never! The collection is supposed to be inspired by Asia, but I can’t really see how. To me, Asia is black, lacquer red and maybe cherry blossom pink. But ok. The colours are typical spring colours – pastels and pink, which isn’t really my cup of tea (and there you might have the explanation for why it took me so long to show them). They cost 25 SEK for a mini bottle of 5 ml, as usual. (Note that Depend has parallell numbers for their ordinary polishes and the O2 polishes, which might be confusion. Both spring collections are numbered 502 to 513.) These were sent to me as press samples.

Sunset and birds with the Depend neons
Det är något med Depends Neon Attitude-lack som gör mig sugen på att göra gradienter av dem. Här har jag gjort en till… Till den här använde jag gula Shocking Neon (70011), orangea Glow Show Neon (70017), röda Vivid Neon (70013) och lila Zap Up Neon (70015). Eftersom jag tänkte vara med i 30 Days of Colour Challenge för första gången och temat för den här veckan är ”birds”, så klistrade jag på fågeldekaler från YouPolish. Det här samma koncept som en manikyr jag gjorde med Depends Holo Fantasy-lack, men jag tycker det blev ännu bättre nu eftersom det är mer stuns i färgerna.
Jag började med att bära bara gradienten matt ett dygn, och den var fin så också, men efter att jag hade satt på dekalerna så la jag på ett par lager blankt överlack och jag tycker nog att det blev finare blankt.
Som bas till manikyren hade jag tre lager av gula Shocking Neon, och det var faktiskt helt ok att lacka med för att vara ett gult neonlack. Det hade nog behövts ett lager till om jag hade burit det på egen hand, men det täckte ändå riktigt bra för att vara ett ljust neonlack! Och det var alldeles tillräckligt färgstarkt på egen hand och behövde faktiskt inte ett vitt underlack.
In English: There is something about the Depend Neon Attitude polishes that makes me want to do gradients with them. Here is another one… For this one, I used yellow Shocking Neon (70011), orange Glow Show Neon (70017), red Vivid Neon (70013) and purple Zap Up Neon (70015). Since I planned to join the 30 Days of Colour Challenge for the first time, and this week’s theme is ”birds”, I added some bird stickers from YouPolish. This is actually the same concept as a mani I did with the Depend Holo Fantasy polishes, but I think this one looks better since the colours are stronger and have better contrast.
I wore just the gradient matte for a day before I added the stickers. It was nice that way, too, but after adding the stickers, I also applied a couple of coats of top coat and I think it looked better that way.
The base for the mani is three coats of the yellow Shocking Orange, and the application was actually pretty good for a yellow neon. It would have needed another coat for full coverage, but it still covered really well for a light neon. And it was quite bright enough on its own and didn’t need a white base coat.
Hand cream from ProNails
Jag är rätt förtjust i att testa nya handkrämer, så när Edgy Polish reade ut de här handkrämerna passade jag på att köpa en tub. Och sedan en till i nästa beställning. Och en till när jag insåg att det bara fanns en kvar… Så nu har jag tömt deras förråd och har tre tuber. Ni kan ju rimligen lista ut att jag gillar den när jag shoppade på mig tre tuber, och det här har blivit en av mina favoriter. Den går otroligt snabbt in i huden och återfuktar riktigt bra utan att bli det minsta kladdig. Dessutom har den en ganska diskret, men angenäm doft. Jag har två varianter, Lavender Jasmine och Silk Olive, och gillar dem båda. I o m att Edgy Polish lägger ner är de nog inte så lätta att få tag på längre, men om ni ser dem någonstans tycker jag att ni ska slå till!
In English: I am quite fond of trying new hand creams, so when Edgy Polish put these on sale I bought a tube. And another one in the next order. And then another one when I realised that there were only one left… So now I’ve emptied their store and have three tubes. From that, it is quite easy to understand that I really like this, and it has indeed become one of my favourites. It goes into the skin extremely quickly and moisturizes really well without being the least bit sticky. It also has a discreet, but enjoyable, scent. I have two versions, Lavender Jasmine and Silk Olive, and I like them both. Since Edgy Polish is closing the store, I don’t think these are very easy to find anymore, but if you see them you should take the opportunity to get a tube!
Simple nail art with Depend O2 508 and 497
Efter knallgula påsklack och neoner kände jag för en lite mer dämpad manikyr, och då slutade det med den här. Jag tänkte att jag skulle utmana mig själv lite och se om jag kunde gilla ett ljusrosa lack om jag kombinerade det med mörkgrönt, men jag tror inte riktigt det lyckades. Jag blev inte dödsförtjust i det här.
Lacken jag använde var Depend O2 508, från Game, Set, Match-kollektionen och Depend 497 från förra årets Glam Rock-kollektion. 508 är ett ljusrosa krämlack med bra formula och förvånansvärt bra täckning för att vara så ljust. Det täckte faktiskt riktigt bra på tre lager. 497 är ett svartgrönt krämlack. Även det var bra att applicera, men det här täckte på endast två lager.
Till dekoren använde jag nagelvinyler från Depend. Både lack och vinyler är pressprover.
In English: After wearing bright yellow Easter nails and neons I felt like a more muted manicure and ended up with this. I thought I should challenge myself a little and see if I could like a light pink polish if I combined it with dark green, but I don’t think I succeeded. I wasn’t overly fond of this.
The polishes I used were Depend O2 508 from the Game, Set, Match collection and Depend 497 from last year’s Glam Rock collection. 508 is a light pink creme with a good formula and surprisingly good coverage for such a light polish. It was opaque in three coats without any troubles. 497 is an almost black forest green. It was also easy to apply, but this was opaque in only two coats.
I used nail vinyls from Depend for the nail art. Both the polishes and the vinyls are press samples.
Nerdlacquer The Ring
Äsch, vad sägs om att gräva fram en gammal goding från arkivet? Här har vi ännu en manikyr från 2014 (september 2014, t o m) som blivit liggande. Givetvis är lacket inspirerat av Sagan om Ringen, och såsom Tolkiennörd var jag ju givetvis tvungen att skaffa det. Om du känner samma behov efter att ha sett mina bilder (eller bara sett namnet), så kan jag tipsa om att det just nu bara kostar 5 dollar hos Nerdlacquer, vilket kan innebära att det är på väg att fasas ut. Passa på medans det är lätt att köpa! Förutom namnet så är det ett riktigt fint lack också. Basen är antikguldig och det har gott om rött skimmer och röda glitter som gör det unikt. Jag skulle definitivt kalla det diskretblingigt. Det är en färg som inte sticker ut överdrivet mycket, men det har ändå det där lilla extra som gör att det inte är det minsta tråkigt.
Jag bar tre lager, men två hade nog kunnat räcka. Applikationen var bra, som vanligt med Nerdar.
Och bara för att jag inte kan låta bli, så inkluderar jag Colliers beskrivning av lacket:
”What has it got on its fingers, eh, Precious? The Ring is an antique gold with a flash of fire red, and plenty of opalescent, gold, and red glitter. Might start to make your hands feel really heavy if you wear it too long; also may induce unpleasant hallucinations or a persecution complex. Highly desirable, but not worth murdering a friend for.”
In English: How about another goodie from the archive? Here is another manicure from 2014 (September 2014, even) that has been forgotten for a long time. It is of course inspired by Lord of the Rings, and as a Tolkien nerd, I of course had to have it. If you feel the same need after seeing my pictures (or just by reading about the name), you should not wait too long with getting it. It is just now sold for only 5 dollars on Nerdlacquer, which probably means that it is being discontinued.
Besides the name, it is also a really pretty polish. The base is an antique gold with lots of gold shimmer and gold glitters that makes it quite unique. I would definitely call it discreetly blingy. The colour does not draw too much attention to itself, but it has that extra something that prevents it from getting boring.
I wore three coats, but two would probably have been enough. The application was good, as usual with Nerds.
And just because I can’t resist, I’ll include Colliers description of it:

Gradient mani with the Depend summer neons
Jag kunde inte motstå Depends Neonkollektion Neon Attitude särskilt länge, och bar därför den här manikyren, med tre av lacken i helgen. Basen är orangea Glow Show Neon (70017) respektive rosa Crazy Hot Neon (70014). Tre lager behövdes för att det skulle täcka, men jag tyckte de var riktigt trevliga att applicera. Jag maskade sedan av med vinyler från Depend och svampade en gradient i de två redan nämnda färgerna och lila Zap Up Neon (70015). Vinylerna från Depend är verkligen de bästa jag har testat! De är väldigt mjuka och formbara, men samtidigt hållbara, och alldeles lagom klibbiga så de fäster tätt mot nageln utan att dra med sig lacket under. Jag testade faktiskt först med vinyler från Nails Redesigned, men de var för stela för att jag skulle kunna få dem att sitta rakt på mina kupiga naglar.
Neonerna torkar till en matt finish som jag tycker är väldigt snygg. På pek- och lillfingret ser ni hur det ser ut ett dygn efter lackning. Naglarna som jag dekorerade fick också ett lager matt överlack, som också är från Depend, för att jämna ut ytan.
Alla produkter från Depend är pressprover, men jag skulle vara precis lika förtjust i dem om jag hade köpt dem för mina egna surt förvärvade slantar! 🙂
In English: I couldn’t resist the Depend Neon Attitude very long, so I wore this manicure with three of the polishes already this weekend. The base is the orange Glow Show Neon (70017) and the pink Crazy Hot Neon (70014). I needed three coats for full coverage and I thought they were nice to apply. I then used nail vinyls from Depend and added a gradient with the tew polishes I have already mentioned and the purple Zap Up Neon (70015). The vinyls from Depend are the best I’ve tried! They are very soft and malleable, but durable, and just sticky enough to adhere tightly to the nail without ripping off the polish. I actually tried with vinyls from Nails Redesigned first, but they were too stiff to make straight lines on my curved nails.
The neons dry to a matte finish that I really like. On my pointer and little finger, you can see how it looks one day after application. The decorated nails got an extra coat of a matte top coat, also from Depend, to even out the surface.
All the Depend products are press samples, but I would have liked them just as much if I had bought them for my own hard earned money! 🙂
Depend Neon Attitude 2017
Det i särklass roligaste pressutskicket jag har fått på länge trillade ner i brevlådan i torsdags innehållandes Depends sommarkollektion Neon Attitude. Sju härliga, färgsprakande neonlack som kommer att komma till butikerna under nästa vecka. De är alla krämlack, och alla torkar till en matt finish, såsom äkta neonlack ska göra.
De ingår i Depends gelhybridserie 7 days och kostar 39 kr för 5 ml.
In English: This Thursday, I got a press package of the Depend Neon Attitude collection. It consists of seven neon polishes, that are delightfully colourful and make me happy just by looking at them! All are cremes, and they dry to a matte finish, as true neons should. They will be released during next week and will cost 39 SEK for 5 ml.
Shocking Neon (70011) – gul / yellow
Knock Out Neon (70012) – grön / green
Vivid Neon (70013) – röd / red
Crazy Hot Neon (70014) – rosa / pink

Så vad tycker ni? Själv är jag supersugen på dessa! Undantaget det blå, som är lite mer dämpad, men ändå snygg, så är det härliga klara basfärger som är riktigt klara och fina. När jag swatchade dem på sticka så täckte de på två eller tre lager, så pigmenteringen verkar vara bra. Kommer ni skaffa de här, eller har ni redan neoner så ni klarar er? Gillar ni neoner över huvud taget?
So, what do you think? I am super stoked about these! With the exception of the blue, which is more muted, but still pretty, they are all very bright and clear. When I swatched them on my swatch sticks, they all covered in two or three coats, so the pigmentation seems to be good. Will you buy these, or are you already covered when it comes to neons? Do you even like neons, to start with?
Easter nails with OPI Exotic Birds Do Not Tweet
Glad påsk, allesammans!
Årets påsknaglar är lite av en favorit i repris – jag hade nästan likadana naglar 2014, men då med Zoya Darcy som bas. I år blev det istället Exotic Birds Do Not Tweet från OPIs Fijikollektion. Det är ett härligt klargult krämlack med helt ok formula för att vara ett gult lack. Givetvis ville det gärna bli lite ojämnt och var lite besvärligt, men det täckte ändå på tre lager och var helt uthärdligt att lacka med. Gula lack kan ju annars vara ett riktigt härke… (Jag har fått det som pressprov.)
Vattendekalerna är från Born Pretty Store och var riktigt trevliga att applicera. Tunna och fina, lossnade enkelt från underlaget och fastnade lagom fort på nageln.
In English: Happy Easter, everybody!
This years’ Easter nails are actually something of a reprise from 2014, when my Easter mani was very similar, but with Zoya Darcy as base. This year I used Exotic Birds Do Not Tweet from the OPI Fiji collection instead. It is a lovely, bright yellow creme with an ok formula for a yellow polish. Of course it was a bit difficult to get it even, but it was opaque in three coats and was decently managable to work with. Yellow polishes can sometimes be nightmares, but this wasn’t that bad. (It was sent to me as a press sample.)
The water decals are from Born Pretty Store and was nice to apply.
Grön onsdag: Femme Fatale Sweet Fir You
Dags för Grön onsdag hos Karin! Mitt bidrag den här veckan är Femme Fatale Sweet Fir You, ett lack som gjordes exklusivt på Color 4 Nails, men som verkar vara slutsålt nu, tyvärr. Basfärgen är en djup, härlig grön med guldskimmer och det piffas upp ytterligare av guldflakes och holoskimmer. Väldigt vackert! Jag bar tre lager. Det täckte egentligen efter två, men det tredje lagret fördjupade färgen ytterligare. Applikationen var bra.
In English: Time for Green Wednesday at Karin’s blog! My contribution is Femme Fatale Sweet Fir You, a Color 4 Nails exclusive, that unfortunately seems to be sold out. The base colour is a deep, luscious green with gold shimmer, and it is livened up by gold flakes and holo shimmer. Very beautiful! I wore three coats. It was opaque after two, but the third coat deepened the colour. The application was nice.
Laura Mercier Secret Concealer and a concealer buffer brush from Zoeva
Vad sägs om något så ovanligt som en recension av make-up? Det kan nog faktiskt vara första gången det händer på den här bloggen, men jag har äntligen hittat en concealer som jag gillar, så varför inte! (Ni får ha överseende med att jag verkligen inte är någon expert vad gäller smink! 🙂 ) Jag har haft svårt att hitta en concealer som täcker mina mörka ringar utan att antingen lägga sig i de fina linjerna under ögonen eller blir kakigt som attan. Dessutom har jag rätt rosatonad hud, vilket gör att många concealers är för gula för mig. När jag var i San Francisco passade jag på att gå in på Sephora och bad om hjälp med att hitta en concealer. De plockade snabbt fram den här och provsminkande mig med den, och eftersom resultatet blev jättebra så köpte jag den förstås. Jag har nu använt den i några månader och tvärgillar den. Den täcker bra, men blir inte kakig och lägger sig inte i veck. Jag brukar pudra lite över för att fixera den, och då sitter det faktiskt hela dagen.
Nyansen de plockade ut åt mig är nummer 1, och den passade mig fint. Ni kan köpa den här concealern på Skincity om ni vill testa den och där kostar den 259 kr. Själv kommer jag absolut köpa den igen när min tar slut. Eller när den blir för äcklig, vilket troligen kommer att ske först eftersom den är extremt dryg.
In English: How about something as unusual as a make-up review? It might be the first time it happens on this blog, but I have finally found a concealer that I really like, so why not! (You’ll have to live with the fact that I really am no expert when it comes to make-up! 🙂 ) I have been having problems finding a concealer that covers my dark circles without either settling into the fine lines under my eyes or getting cakey. I also have quite pink skin, which means that most concealers are too yellow for me. When I was in San Francisco I took the opportunity to go into Sephora and asked for help in finding a good concealer. They quickly got this out and tested it on me, and since the result was great, I bought it. I have now used it for a couple of months and like it a lot. It has a really good coverage, but doesn’t get cakey or settle into my lines. I usually set it with a little powder, and then it actually stays on the whole day.
The colour they picked for me is number 1, which suits me nicely. You can buy this concealer from Skincity for 259 SEK. I will absolutely buy it again when I have finished mine. Or when it becomes too gross, which will probably happen first since it is very economical.
När jag blev provsminkad inne på Sephora använde MUAn en tät fluffig borste istället för de platta borstarna som jag tycker oftare brukar dyka upp när man pratar om concealerborstar. (Fast det kanske bara är jag som har dålig koll.) Den gjorde att hon kunde buffa in produkten och verkligen jobba in den så att resultatet blev väldigt naturligt. Själv hade jag ingen sån borste, men strax efter att jag kommit hem läst jag en recension hos Des av ett borstset från Zoeva där en sådan borste ingick. Jag kastade mig över eBay och hade klickat hem en egen borste strax därefter. Jag är verkligen nöjd med den och tycker att den här typen av borste funkar mycket bättre till concealer än platta borstar, som i mina händer ofta lämnar ett lite randigt resultat och inte är så bra för att jobba in produkten.
When the MUA in Sephora tried it on me, she used a dense, fluffy brush instead of the plat brushes that I think you most often see when people talk about concealer brushes. (But it might just be that I am out of the loop on concealer brushes.) Using it, she could really buff in the product and got a very natural-looking result. I didn’t have a brush like that myself, but shorly after I got home, I read a review at Des’ blog about a brush set from Zoeva where a brush like that was included. Of course, I hit eBay and had clicked home one for myself shortly thereafter. I am really happy with it and think this type of brush works much better with concealer than the flat ones, which in my hands tend to leave streaks and isn’t as good to work the product into the skin.
